I'm not sure if soap-gateway is the preferred method, but I like it and succesfully used it. There has been some
talk recently and perhaps the package will be checked in, meanwhile you can find it at http://www.byrnelitho.com/SOAP-Gateway-0.1d.apm
The next version will make use of tdom instead of nsxml and support both SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2.
