Hi everybody,

Did you guys see this announcement? http://developers.slashdot.org/story/11/04/13/055219/Tcl-Announces-NaTcl-Native-Client-Tcl?utm_source=rss1.0&utm_medium=feed

Now Tcl can be the first alternate language to JavaScript. I can see a lot of good alternatives that we can use and make OpenACS even more user friendly. Let's say if it's possible, for example, that NaTcl can use the same namespace as the usual Tcl interpreter. We could use our API's directly in a UI call.

I don't know if this is possible, just thiking about the possibilities. Anyone want to share dreams and maybe start writing a few things?

This is really exciting.

Imagine giving client users the option to serve text (or no) advertising instead of graphics intensive advertising, and use that extra computing power for BOINC projects etc.

This would be a useful alternative where downloading software is not an available option within a controlled environment.

Suppose, for example, while a user is volunteering for GalaxyZoo (human interpretation / processing of imagery) their client is being used for related BOINC-like computations.
