I've updated the project page to reflect the fact that I'll be putting together the first beta tarball tomorrow. Several folks have volunteered to help test, we can use more, please e-mail me directly if you're able to help. Testing won't be as formal as was true for 4.6.2, in part because the number of changes in this version are relatively small and in part due to lack of resources and timing.
My basic plan is to put together a beta1 tarball tomorrow and a beta2 tarball a week later, followed a week later by the final release.
