University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute launches!

University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute site is based on OpenACS-4.6.3 levering the Content Repository and using CMS admin UI. The site has 7 content types and 10 sections and subsections. Development was done by Michael Steigman in under a month.

In addition to providing the public face for the Donahue Institute, the UMass Donahue Institute Head Start team is using the system for an intranet. The Head Start program utilizes a highly mobile workforce located throughout New England. They utilize OpenACS' collaboration functionality, including forums, file storages, news, calendar, weblog and FAQs to coordinate their efforts and communication.

The Head Start group is serving as pilot program for the Donahue Institute. Development plans call for the site to be upgraded to 5.0 and connected to the Institute's LDAP server to allow access by all Donahue Institute programs.
