I have installed latest code from oacs-5-3 and dotlrn-xowiki, xowiki-portlet from head. after adding the xowiki applet to a community i get the following error in the admin portlet:

Is my xotcl (1.5.3) too old?

no, your xotcl-core was to new. fixed in cvs head.
