right?
HTML pre tags do not "like to double-space" anything. If you're
seeing that effect, you're probably doing it wrong. Try editing your
HTML text differently. Remember, the whole point of "pre" is to
display pre-formatted text in a fixed-width font. Pretty
much all the whitespace between the tags is significant, and will be
displayed.
