Forum .LRN Q&A: Changed Permission Policy for file-storage in .LRN?

I have a problem with file storage in dotlrn.

when I create a new subgroup members have read "and" write privilege in file storage but they should only have read rights.

Is there a change in the permission policy in the latest .LRN code?

I installed latest code from oacs-5-3 and realized that there are also read and write permissions.

Where can I change that to read only?

Hi Nima,

I don't think the policy has been changed for file-storage in subgroups, it's the same policy as clubs one and, as far as I can remember, it has always been this way.

I looked in older subgroups and there is only a read permission. the newer groups also have write permissions.

where can I change that behaviour?

Hi Nima!

We to remove the permission of writing to the members in our groups have these parameters to 0 in dotLRN File Storage Applet:

WritePermissionForMembersP set 0
InheritPermissionsForRootFolderP set 0

The parameters were added a long time ago:
http://cvs.openacs.org/cvs/openacs-4/packages/dotlrn-fs/dotlrn-fs.info?r1=1.26&r2=1.26.2.1

Greetings

Thank you.
Has anyone a script to remove write permissions for members in existing file-storage instances in dotlrn?
