Yea Don, "complex" and "ornate" are two good words to describe it.  I read through the docs a while back before deciding to go with the Ybos CM system (Karl has a CM system built on his templating code in there too).  It was a beautiful design, and would make a great master's thesis or something. :)  But I had a hard time imagining myself using it in a real production project.  Too many files, too much extra typing.  Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I'd rather deal with page layout and Tcl code in one file than that!

I do think we need a good templating scheme but it needs to be simple, and not much more time-consuming than the current all-in-one approach, or it's just not going to get used.
