Forum OpenACS Q&A: Which OpenACS5?

I downloaded the latest tar file of OpenACS 5 (5.0.0b1a) from the download section. Is this the one to use, or should I go for a cvs checkout? There were not many modules in the file, are modules somewhere else now?

I noticed that the new installation offers automation of the last steps of installing OpenACS via tclwebtest. That's cool. I just finished an almost automatic install of everything leading up to that point. All I have left is the auto create of the nsd.tcl file and creating the user and database for the install. I've divided all the most common settings in nsd.tcl into a separate file.

Also has a decision been made on where to 'package require tDOM'?

Putting

package require tdom

in modules/tcl/init.tcl (the global init.tcl file) seems to work, at least for installing and running the core 5.0.

What I have found to work best for me is the 5.0 beta tarball, and then adding the packages that I wanted from CVS.
