Support for outgoing SSL connections returned to nsopenssl 3.x. Now ALL OpenACS packages (that I know of) can run on AOLserver 4.x. See http://www.thecodemill.biz/publications/blog/one-entry?entry%5fid=9980 for information on configuring nsopenssl 3.x for outgoing connections.
