Forum OpenACS Q&A: Patches in CVS tree?

Collapse

So flame me as a clueless newbie, but tell me where I can access the
good work that's been done by others.  For example, I had a problem
with group-administered pages.  Searching on "ns_ora" I found Babak
Ashrafi's posting from July 6, 2000 which solved the problem.  After
patching several files, I have to believe that these and other
patches must be available elsewhere, perhaps through the CVS tree.
All I see, though, is the basic 3.2.4 distribution.

Are patches available, and do I need a CVS account (non-anonymous) to
access them?

Tks, RF

No, the only source is the CVS tree (which you can access
anonymously). What you're seeing is a simple delay in posting
these patches to the CVS tree, because the SDM isn't yet up to
par on collecting patches and applying them easily. We're going
to release 3.2.5 at some point in the near future to include a
bunch of these patches.

As I mentioned earlier today, I'll be updating the CVS tree with
several fixes later today/early tonight.  Not as many as I like, but
better than nothing.

I'll try to clean up more patches from the SDM and the forum over the
next two-three weeks, but will not have very much time to do
so...don't expect *too* much.
