I am pleased to announce that we will be offering a number of "micro-grants" to encourage new ideas and to make incremental improvements to OpenACS and .LRN. We expect to award at least ten and as many as twenty-five grants over the next six months. Each award will be for $2,500.

Guidelines. Proposals can be any area, including development, documentation, training, information architecture, and user interface.

Proposal. Please submit no more than a one page proposal to me and Carl Blesius. The proposal should describe your deliverable, why it should matter to OpenACS/.LRN, and why you personally care about the proposed improvement. Proposals may be submitted by individuals, teams, or companies.

Areas of Interest.Although we encourage proposals in all areas, we are especially interested in the following areas: usability, performance/scalability, documentation, and training.

Selection. The selection will be made by representatives from the .LRN Board of Directors, User Advisory Board, and the Technical Advisory Board.
