yeah, you can blame me for that naming scheme. The idea was that these
would be temporary fixes. Of course, as always, they've turned into
much more than anything "temporary." The good thing is that, as we
move to 4.x, we are renaming, reordering, rearchitecturing everything,
so this clear sign of Ben's insanity will not live on for very much
longer....
