Forum .LRN Q&A: User Preferences Pkg

Hello all,

I noticd that the user-preferences (version 0.5d) package is included in .LRN 2.1 but it does not seem to be loaded. Is something wrong with it?

What is the best way to install this in .LRN (I added a dependency to the dotlrn pkg)?

Is this a resource-intensive package? Is that why it was not included by default?

Happy New year!

Nearly two years later I looked at the package and am still wondering what to do with it :).

Is anyone actually using it? What are people using to store the user preferences?

Also note that the user-preferences package has nothing to do with the user_preferences table.

Last but not least, I would like to have a more generic approach, e.g. object preferences, which I think is called dynamic types 😊.

Or a less generic one for parties, so we can store party preferences.
