Guess what? LibertyUnites.org - the site that was put together in short order by Pipevine (see article) is running on AOL Server.

That makes for a very dubious "win".  Read the horrid tech problems they had, halfway down the article.  Random locks not releasing?  Debug code <em>changing the timing</em> so that the deadlocks went away!?!

Half full... its not really a hit against AOLServer.  Just the whole thing being pulled off in a few days and some people forgetting to cross their Ts and dot their Is, IMHO.

The article says that what was locking itself was Oracle database accessed by "transaction engine written in Java". AOLServer is not even mentioned by the name in the article so it can hardly be considered pro (or against) AOLServer piece.

Still, I think it helps in evangelizing. Just point them to the Netcraft findings.
