Forum OpenACS Development: Vienna Universtiy of Economics hiring Openacs developers

The WU ( Vienna University of Econocmis and Business ) has opened 2 positions in the eLearning team (LEARN@WU team).
Here you have the description of both:

IT system manager (reference no.: 1253) (Full-time position)

Fields and activities:
  • Development and implementation of platform projects (teams of 1-5 persons)
  • System administration of Learn@WU platform (basis: OpenACS, Linux, PostgreSQL, AOLServer)
  • Technical support for teachers and students
Required qualifications and skills:

Completed academic degree or advanced study stage with specialization in IT, and professional experience. Proficiency in English, knowledge of German or willingness to learn German.

Desired qualifications and skills:
  • Experience in operating and administration of high-performance Linux systems
  • Experience in application development using tcl or other script languages
  • Experience in designing and creation of web interfaces using web 2.0 technologies
  • Sound knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL (PostgreSQL)
  • Of advantage: knowledge of open source web frameworks and eLearning platforms

IT system manager multimedia & web design (reference no.: 1254) (One full-time position or two half-time positions)

Fields and activities:
  • Development and implementation of platform projects (teams of 1-5 persons)
  • Development and implementation of accessible web based user interfaces
  • Development and support of an architecture for podcasting and multimedia contents and its integration into the existing platform
Required qualifications and skills:

Completed academic degree or advanced study stage with specialization in IT, and professional experience. Proficiency in English, knowledge of German or willingness to learn German.

Desired qualifications and skills:
  • Experience in designing and creation of web interfaces using web 2.0 technologies
  • Sound knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Java Script and multimedia formats
  • Graphic skills and talent
  • Experience in application development using tcl or other script languages
  • Knowledge of Mac OS X and Linux
  • Of advantage: experience with open source web frameworks and eLearning platforms
