Forum OpenACS Q&A: Re: Will Dr. OpenACS survive? Or why I stopped worrying and learned to love the .LRN consortium?

I'll take a happy average programmer over a disgruntled, frustrated master programmer any day.

Given that the best software engineers are documented to be one to two orders of magnitude more productive than your average programmer ... I'd say this statement is one of the most stupid ones I've seen in a long time.

OK, successful guy pats himself on back in public. He's getting his 15 minutes of fame. We'll see if it lasts any longer than that.

You may recall the Philip, ArsDigita, and the ACS had easily as much ink, notoriety and fame as these folks. And look! The work was crap! The tools are crap! It's all crap!

But today's darling, well, it's a panacea! The world's problems are solved!

It will be fun to talk about Ruby on Rails in, oh, five years or so. We'll still be here to talk about it, too, no doubt about it.
