Greetings,

Is there a mailing list somewhere that I can subscribe to that will
let me know what/when commits are made to the openacs4 CVS repository?

Hmmm...no.  I know it is possible (the PG group does something like this) but I don't know how to set it up.  I know they're doing it via majordomo...what do you do, tell CVS to e-mail to a particular address, which happens to be a mailing list?

I'm pretty sure Don's suggestion would work.  That is: in CVS you can add a watch.  When something changes the user that added the watch gets an e-mail update.

The main problem is that (I think) most people log in using the anonymous CVS account.  If you can set an e-mail address for the anonymous account then you could just point it at the mailing list.

Failing that you could add a user to the CVS repository for the purpose of these updates and set the e-mail address to be the mailing list.  Then add a watch to the openacs4 directory and anybody subscribed to the list would get it.

Yeah, you just add some stuff to the admin directory in the cvsroot.

I set this up for our dotlrn cvs tree which just spams a simple .qmail
list with all of 3 static users. However, I've never set up a fancier mailing list so I don't know how much work, setup and admin, that will be.
