thanks torben, i cant recall the errors on the logs because i have already reformatted my computer for a fresh start. right now i have finished installing postgres 7.3.4 and following the installation notes on this site (
https://openacs.org/doc/current/index.html). im still working on the aolserver now. hopefully everything goes well.
i have another question though. how important is threads for tcl? i have an installed tcl from the fedora distribution (tcl8.4.7) and the info exist tcl_platform(thread) command returns 0. on previous my installation i installed tcl8.4.6.tar.gz and configured it with --enable-threads (giving me 2 tcls) but my installation stalled. i was thinking it might be because i have 2 tcls. right now i dont want to install another tcl and im figuring out how i can enable threads with the current tcl installed from the fedora distribution. is there any conflict with having 2 tcls?
