Could you explain better whaat you mean by virtual classroom?

Our Beehive project does a lot of synchronous collaboration things, althought it requires Flash communication server

beehive project seems interesting.

rafael, is it for any chance close to a public release ?
is it going to be GPL ?

i can't find any mention about these facts on project site

http://www.weg.ee.usyd.edu.au/projects/beehive/

also, do you know how you/your department got to choose this macromedia breeze ? what is the distinguishing feature among all the "synchronous" packages on the market ?

also, can anyone confirm there is no open source viable candidate for synchronous learning/events ? (apart say using a pletora of different tools and integrating them one by one) I've seen recentely talks on jabber integration. Perhaps would jabber manage desktop sharing and video ?

Cheers

Michele

We do not use Breeze (worth $35k), only Flash Comm Server (worth $500)

The code will be made GPL. We still need to get some signatures across the project partners.

A public release will be available later in the year.
Those who agree in collabroating in an educational research project might get it earlier. The project will require doing a questioanre to people using it and sending us the results

cheers
