He'll look into support for Tcl 8.5 for xotcl and aolserver.

There are no known issues with Tcl 8.5 either for xotcl or for aolserver (at least, that I know of). So no need to worry.

openacs.org runs perfectly stable with tcl 8.5 and aolserver 4.5.1 since more than one year:

Thanks! Last I recall was a question if it worked or not. Apparently it does! That makes things much easier.
