We are also interested in the option of having external authentication
sources for OpenACS.
Important is the following:
- Modularity (being able to plug in different sources of authentication)
- Having a fallback mechanism (e.g. if user password not in LDAP, use
standard OACS authentication, if user password/key not in OACS ask users
mother, etc.)
This is why it would be interesting to have a general pluggable
authentication API for OACS... I have not looked at it yet but I think this is
something that has been addressed by by
the Open Knowledge Initiative (http://web.mit.edu/oki/ )
