Hi there,

I was wondering why we can't edit/amend a thread opened on oacs forums.

Maybe we can set this ability/possibility to the thread creator.

cheers,

Basically noone has implemented it.

Generally this type of faeture holds a post for a certain time perioud to allow the author to edit the post before it is shown to the public, emailed etc.

Administrators can edit a post at any time.

If it already exists for administrators then it would be just a matter of setting permissions properly to let administrator and author edit it. wouldn't it?

Only if you want to be able to "rewrite history" since the originals are sent out by email notifications immediately.

So to provide a better user experience, you'd want to
1) show edits along with the original post,
2) hold email notifications and posts to the forum listing for 15 mins or some time, then allow edits by the author within that time.
