and using the command:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:mailto:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/aolserver co -r aolserver_v40_r10 aolserver
I am getting the error: cvs [checkout aborted]: connect to cvs.sourceforge.net(66.35.250.207):2401 failed: No route to host
that ip pings just fine but when I try: telnet 66.35.250.207 2401
I get: Trying 66.35.250.207... telnet: connect to address 66.35.250.207: No route to host
https://openacs.org/xowiki/pages/en/aolserver-install
which is part of the new docs we are working on, to be more responsive to changes.

In how far did sourceforge change the cvs access requirements?
http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=3152
...the install-docu seems to be a little outdated
Could you explain what you did differently to get it working for you?
I knew there were 2 different docu-versions but obviously took the old one (https://openacs.org/doc/current/aolserver4.html).
I found the new cvs-server urls at sourceforge and thought the docu was outdated.
Probably one should put a "warning" at the old docu-page with a link to the new one.
cvs.sourceforge.net
to
aolserver.sourceforge.net
Notice Sourceforge has added now aolserver (proyect name) to their public cvs
I mean aolserver.cvs.sourceforge.net Thereis no route to host cvs.sourceforge.net
