Exactly! This would help solve a big part of the CMS problem. I have long believed that a good Open Source CMS solution should use a combination of WebDAV and a lightly customized version of Mozilla Composer on the client side for all content creation and editing, leaving version control, workflow, publishing, and (to a certain degree) templating on the server side. This would greatly simplify the server-side UI design requirements while simultaneously enabling users to draw on the full range of desktop software functionality that they're used to having when they create documents. As a bonus, if users prefer a closed source client-side authoring app (e.g., Dreamweaver), they could do that too and still use WebDAV for seamless integration with the CMS.
