Regarding the line-item entry, this can be modeled with a section that can be answered multiple times. The missing part if the logic that determines how many times it can be answered and when you are done.
There is a general idea that we want branched surveys that offer additional sections based on the answer to one or more questions.
It does look like we might need additional tools to provide validation rules for input data. I think we can use ad_page_contract and form validation filters, many of which are already written. The hard part is presenting a usable UI.
Luke and I discussed much of this when we did the initial design. I will still take a few days to digest all of this and examine the data model.
