You don't really expect any helpful answers on this question, do you? How should anyone be able to figure out what exactly your problem is? It would involve some really lucky guessing. There are lots of people here willing to help you, but only if you are more specific in your questions.

I configured dotLRN as per the installation document. Everthing works fine. Connection was established via https. When I reboot, I couldn't connect via https anymore.

Sorry, as Tilmann said, your explanation is not very helpful. You can't connect via HTTPS? What do you mean? The server rejects the HTTPS connections? You type https://your.dotlrn.url.here/ and you get connection refused? Have you looked into the error logs from the server? etc ... answers to all these questions might be a bit more detailed but you should make an effort in trying to describe your problem a bit more in detail so that we can try to help, people are very busy as well and trying to guess what the problem is will be very low priority.

http://aufrecht.org/doc/openacs.html advices 143 (imap)instead of 443 as standard httpsport, is that intentionally Joel?

Albert, I would post that as a bug in the documentation in the bug tracker. It should be on port 443.
