After upgrade the database from 8i to 9i ,there are many oracle reports have failed but those reports are working fine in 8i.
The error shows as "ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 5 with name "_SYSSMU5$" too small
==> GL_BALANCES GB,"

I have upload the 8i and 9i trace to Oracle but they could not resolve this issue.
can any one points me to the right direction.

Oracle 9i uses UNDO instead of rollback by default. Take a look at the size of any tablespaces that look like they are called UNDO or UNDO are part of their name. Make sure they have a lot of free space.

The definition of a lot depends on how much data you might have that is changing on a regular basis.
