Thank you for the explanation... is this information written somewhere?
If not, any time an "unaware" user will try to install/update software from the web she will notice this anomaly and suppose something is wrong with her installation, version of the software or the like.
And how come there are no packages compatible for 5.6 when there are some for 5.7.
Again which first impression are we giving to the users?

So far no optional packages have been tested and confirmed to work with openacs 5.6 and subsequently tagged by the package maintainer so they can be picked up by the repository builder.

Mainly this is due to the delay in releasing the next version of dotlrn, and unfortunately lack of volunteers to do this kind of work. Only one person is taking care of all this.

Don, if you are listening, is it possible to recruit a volunteer to test and release these packages outside the dotlrn release process?
