FYI since so many folks here use qmail and daemontools...

With Red Hat 9 (and other distros that use a recent version of glibc) there has been a change in glibc that breaks all of DJB's software.

If you go to the main qmail site at http://qmail.org/top.html and scroll down to the bottom of the page you'll find a link to the patches you need to compile qmail, daemontools, etc.

This affects qmail, daemontools, and also some versions of PostGreSQL.  The fix is a single edit per package, and is in install guide for 4.6.3.
