Interesting notes from Michael Feldstein on Sakai http://mfeldstein.com/sakai-resources-tool-meeting/

"First, the group is interested in making it possible to organize the primary navigation within a course from being organized around tools (i.e., in a Blackboard-ish way) to being organized around curricular goals and content (i.e., in a Moodle-ish or Boddington-ish way)."

This is interesting, since it is also an area dotlrn is trying to move into. Its something we need to coordinate and collaborate more on. It really will change how users view and interact with .LRN.

The other news is that Sakai will move towards adopting JSR-170 standard for content repositories. I have looked at this before and the OpenACS content repository meets most of the requirements. He also noted that Moodle will work on JSR-170 with a PHP/Java bridge as well.

There was someone a while ago inserested in OpenACS and JCR as well https://openacs.org/forums/message-view?message_id=976839

Will be very good to be organized around curricular goals and content, have to say that more than new tools we need better organization.
