While I'm learning, I occasionally find minor inconsistencies in the source (duplicate functions, mislabelled xql queries, missing page contracts etc.) Is it ok to log these on the bug tracker (as minor/suggestions)?

Yes! That's exactly what bug tracker is for. No reason to be shy there ;o)
