Jeff Davis, Lars and I have all worked on acs-templating at times. My guess is that we'd all be happy to let you be the maintainer of the wizard ... what is needed in the way of changes to existing code to make use of it? Other than CMS, who uses it now (no one I think)?
This is too important to be left solely in contrib.
