This is a request for buyers of some features we have been working on and some that we are planning to develop. These are features that we believe would be great additions to the toolkit, features that might be of value to the institutional sponsors of OpenACS/.LRN:
- File Storage: Bulk upload of a directory tree from an uploaded .zip/.tar.gz/etc. archive file.
We've done some research into bulk uploading of an archive directory tree in FS and we've implemented an archive uploader that seems to do the trick and could be developed further.
- Form Builder: Spellchecker for ad_form using Aspell/Ispell.
We've implemented a spellchecker but there is still some work left to make it general enough and to make it work with Lars' new richtext widget, and thus to get it into the toolkit.
- Curriculum: I18n of the package and user statistics for the curriculum admin.
We've got loose plans on allowing teachers to check up on the performance of students, a user stats feature requested by Carl and Caroline. We should also internationalize the Curriculum package.
- Seculum: Curriculum phase 2 with rule-based sequencing of branched curriculums.
We're all set to start implementing an IMS compliant simple sequencing engine in a new package that could be called Sequenced Curriculum, or Seculum for short.
