is there any quick way to check whether input of a text box contains html tags such as </form> or </table> instead of using reg exp?

however, i would also like to allow user to put in tags like <b></b> or <code></code>

o, and also, how could i change the appearance of ad_form apart from including a style sheet on every pages i call it
