  • I'm getting ready to create the new temporary forum for OCT election nominations. The rules for nominations are up as a tip and appear likely to pass as is.
  • How would we go about mass-emailing about the new forum? Just hand-compile a list and put everybody in a bcc? Could we send it from an openacs address? Could someone with the ability to do this coordinate with me?
  • Is there any reason not to mass-email? Have we made any promises not to? Have we done it before? Would we bother people? Should we provide an opt-out link in the email?

Don't know about promises made or not, but as a data point I can mention the call-for-news for the newsletter. I collected by hand a list of some 40 individuals, which I mail using Bcc. The list includes a fair number of people, who may often not be too active here on openacs.org, yet so far noone have opted out.
