Forum OpenACS CMS: Can we build a simple CR tutorial?

This thread is a continuation of the latest heated discussion of the usability of the Content Repository. See https://openacs.org/forums/message-view?message_id=135699.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were a simple tutorial (including working code samples) that would help beginning CR users understand the basics? The pitfalls? I don't think it would be extremely time consuming for any individual CR expert if each of those knowledgeable of the CR added a small piece to the tutorial.

If you have coded with the CR, would you post?

If so, just add a message to this thread!

Now is your opportunity to give a little an receive alot.

Hi Randy,

I think Jade has already started with something like this.  His doc can be a starting basis.

It's a start.

We need to have a Wiki set up with tutorials like mine put on it. Then other people can contribute to it.

Of course, the Wiki needs to use the CR, so we can backtrack if someone screws things up 😊

I believe the revisions are not currently exposed to the UI of the Wiki.

In any case, I would start with my CR docs, and email me if you have any text you'd like to add or change on them:

Hi guys

I was thinking about trying out CR before i start using it in a project by implementing CR on the notes package.

Just wondering if the 'notes' package already supports CR in any of its versions?? Is it easier to make changes to the 'notes' data-model or start from scratch(i mean using Jade's guide).

Thanks in advance.
