Oh, Tom Jackson mentioned the ns_pam module.. This is a bit of a side discussion since I think OpenACS's default should be to not transmit passwords in the clear. On the other hand maybe ns_pam would help me even if it does not help the default OpenACS installation. So I would like to find out a bit more about this. I'm not familiar with how ns_pam would work with OpenACS. Would passwords be transmitted from the client to the OpenACS server as they are now, and then used by OpenACS once they are received? Or is some other system used?
