Forum OpenACS Q&A: Comments and Static Pages

I added my static pages to my site. On my index.html page, I am indeed
getting the add comments/add links links.

However, if I go to one of my other static pages, no such luck.

Amusingly enough, I want it the other way around -- I *don't* want the
comments links on the main page, and I *do* want it on the others.

I have synch'd the database, and it says the various documents are in
the db...

Um.

It *is* working on some pages -- for example, http://universe.pele.cx/ideadoc/Galaxy.html has the add a comment link, but http://universe.pele.cx/ideadoc/spies.html does not.

I can't figure out what the difference is -- I just checked, and spies does indeed have accept comments = 't'.

Hi Shalon,

The reason your not getting the option to add a comment or link to spies.html is because you don't have an opening and closing HTML tag.

If you don't want the add comments/link option to appear, just include the comment AD_DND in your HTML.

You shouldn't need HTML tags. You *do* need body tags, though.

Ah-hah!

That explains it.

I have the feeling I've missed some documentation; where would I have found this info?
