If we decide sometime in the future to add to CR the ability to maintain "cr items light" (i.e. non-revisioned cr items), like Tom, Don and many others have discussed in the past, it may turn out favorable to merge the concept of cr items with acs objects entirely. Basically only differentiate between non-versioned and versioned acs objects, thus.

Just a spontaneous thought from someone who hasn't given it too much consideration ...

Ola, I think it would be difficult to go that far. If so, we would just call acs_objects the content table and subclass directly from it. But there are other types of objects besides content. I was thinking of something similar to the parties table, where person, group, rel_segment come from. This table can hold info believed to be common to all content oriented objects.
