AOLSERVER
It is an ever growing barrier to get people to hire programmers to build OpenACS sites
Maybe have AOLServer be a part of OpenACS (debian package)
Start using 4.5? stable is still 4.0
4.5 is stable but uses more memory
		have to reboot nightly
Ubuntu package for postgres driver for AOLServer has errors
who packaged it? can they fix it?
We want packages available for both AOLserver versions 4.0 and 4.5

The plan is to get 4.5 fixed
There is still the problem of memory consumption (leaks) in 4.5

	C level plugins to 4.5

        Contact Info:
        * AOLServer Packaging Page:  http://packages.qa.debian.org/a/aolserver4.html
        * Frankie's Email: http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=frankie@debian.org

        Action Items:
	* Carl will write a letter to Frankie (debian package maintainer) to use both versions of AOLserver
	* Stefan is going to try to reproduce install bugs and report them if so
	* Emmanuelle will check her past emails for details about the AOLServer 4.5 errors are
        * Depending on the issues, we choose our path (4.0 vs. 4.5) - hopefully 4.5

	Naviserver
They are not really pushing to have a release; Works for them, so they don't
		have any reason to release

Gustaf is in contact with them

	TCL
When do we want to switch to TCL 8.5? Dependent on AOL community
Is Debian going to switch to 8.5?
Stefan says you can have both versions??

Benchmarks show 8.5 is faster than 8.4, but Gustaf says 8.4 is faster
Some new features in 8.5 - nested list structure with fast access

It will be a while before we switch

Ease of Installation & Packaging
All about Packing OpenACS and .LRN
Uniform criteria for which version we want to support

	debian
	focus on unstable
get things to work on stable and unstable

Our policy is that we support last 2 major postgres releases. Don says that has worked
well for us. We ignore the smaller releases.

	freebsd

will the consortium pay $$ to do the packaging for releases

        Action Items:
	* Emmanuelle has a sysadmin (Hector) who can be responsible for packaging.
(Original deadline was not met by person originally contacted for this work)
She has confirmed that he is available to do the work.
The .LRN Consortium is interested to pay some small/symbolic amount to maintain debian packages.

	* Carl will be the tdom package maintainer; Carl will contact prev. tDOM package maintainer.
	* Stefan is going to be the xoTCL package maintainer.

Support of different DBs (Oracle)

Bergen, UNED, UCLA are current members of the .LRN consortium and has paid their membership fees,
although that doesn't translate into resources.

Mario Aguado and Raul Morales from Innova have offered to help with oracle support during their spare time.
Malte will test against the Oracle Express Edition if the "non Java" version works.

We need to find resources to do the porting.
Report to Oracle supporters in order to say we are looking for more supporters,
.LRN Consortium will communicate on this regard.

Don and Dave are right now supporting Core. - The non-Java stuff
needs to be added. Maybe Don and Dave can be paid to keep Oracle up to date.

Bug Backlog
Way to improve the bug tracker
	Email notification being sent out?
	RSS does not work
We need a process so bugs taking care of.
Slow when you have a large amount of bugs

Documentation and OpenACS Web Site
There's no one that maintains documentation
	Robert Taylor says he's interested

	Documentation is currently split into 3 places;
All was supposed to be moved to xoWiki
It's been 2 years and documentation has still not been ported

	Internationalization

	Propose a structure for documentation
		Cookbook
	Type of documentation

        Action Items:
	1. Old Document is the base for the xowiki documentation (test-doc)
	2. Comm. to Robert Taylor
	3. Resource to apply template and export it to HTML- (Gustaf)
		1 HTML file
		1 HTML file per package
	4. Document step 3 and put into CVS
	5. Migrate new stuff in xoWiki to the new documentation
	6. Shut down other documentations.

Role of xoTCL within OpenACS
Right now xoTCL is required when you install OpenACS, but
	core does not use it.

In .LRN, chat uses xoTCL. The chat package is in dotlrn-extras
