Forum OpenACS Q&A: Documentation update questions

Hi all,

I am getting the documentation up-to-date and improving many things.
Should I include examples only for .tcl init files or both .ini and
.tcl ?

I took off the reference that told people to include the datestyle in
the init file since the driver now takes care of that if nothing is
specified. Is this ok Don or do you want me to leave the reference
there ?

Oh, btw, it would be nice to have the release files named
x-opeancs.tar.gz with the cool OpenACS logos included in the graphics
directory. You know, advertising is key 😊

Hmmm...some folks might still be using 2.3.3, so I don't really know what to say.

Here's a thought: newcomers will be using ACS 3.0.  Just document the process with the .tcl init files, and make brief mention of the fact that a .ini file is provided for long-time AOLserver users who're still using AOLserver 2, without going into details.  Those still using AOLserver 2 will be familiar with it, not newbies, so shouldn't need mucn help with setting up the configuration anyway.

How does that sound?

You're right, you don't need to include the set datestyle command in the init file any more.
