Quick search seems to indicate that it should be okay, but can someone confirm that 4.6.3 and above will work under 7.4?  Have a client wanting to use -HEAD, and would rather put them to 7.4, if I can, then 7.2 ...

there was one bug that turned up on 7.4 in the 5.0 tree
which is there in 4.6.3 as well.
