Since the forums package is part of standard OpenACS, I suggest you post a summary of what you've done to the regular openacs Q&A forum along with a link to your test server.
By doing this you'll get feedback from many more people, and perhaps some more ideas for improvement though it sounds like you've done a very nice first attempt ...
