Not a bad idea at all. The edit this page package contains already a few applications and associated templates/masters and so on. Why not add more in the same spot(s) as they are invented?
If it makes more sense to keep contributed ETP applications in a repository of its own, that's fine too I suppose.
The important thing is that they come out in the open.
