If I remember our talks a while back the official line is: Alpha and Beta do not have upgrade support but Release Candidates and Releases have upgrade support, meaning: Upgrade scripts from RC need to be available for the release to come out. OTOH I seriously hope we do not find anything in the RC that requires us to write upgrade scripts ....
