I urge everyone who is interested in InterBase -- but has never tried it -- to go to www.interbase.com, download & install a copy. [just to see what i'm trying to get everyone into 😉 ]
InterBase is very lightweight and easy to install -- I downloaded it, installed it, fired up the client & started writing queries in under 10 minutes. It also is very easy to administer.
Question, though, for the OpenACS experts [who have some familiarity with IB] -- do you think that an IB port could work within the common OpenACS source code tree? Is it within the realm of possibility? [i'm asking for a realistic assessment..] Or are the differences too big? thanks.
