I'm interested in starting up an openACS irc channel. IRC is either a
colossal waste of time, or a good way to get dumb config questions
answered quickly. Usually it is both at the same time. If anyone wants
to join in, I'm at #openacs on efNet. As soon as I get my server up an
running, I'll set up a bot to hold onto the channel. If others are
already doing this on some other network, let me know.
Sounds like a plan to me, though I could wish that you'd chosen a calmer IRC net, like irc.openprojects.net, which I already monitor - had gotten away from having a window on every net in existence 😊
You'll see me there as GEM from time to time, now.
I'm going to move the server to whatever network openprojects uses since EFNET is a mess. I'll also set up my server to hold the channel. However, I won't be able to get this up and running until next week. If anyone wants or needs to do this before then, feel free.
irc.openprojects.net, port 6667, will work fine for now. I've set up #OpenACS in my name. I've not got a bot to keep the channel open, but I have set it up so that whenever someone is there, the topic points here, with a little info about OpenACS as well. Hope to see folks there - already talked to Jim.
