Forum OpenACS Q&A: SAP DB to be open sourced.

SAP is supposed to open source SAP DB, ie. their own RDBMS. See
www.sapdb.org for information about it. What's interresting is that
it's supposed to have support for the Oracle SQL dialect. Does anybody
have any experience with it? I can't be too good because 90% of SAP R3
customers choose Oracle (or maybe this is just conservatism?).
Apparently it has all kinds of nice features. According to their
roadmap the source for the entire stuff will be released gradually,
ending in April 2001 with the db kernel. Binaries are available right
now. Might become an interresting choice among PostgreSQL and
Interbase in the open source db "market"?
