I use HTMLArea in ETP that allows the user to choose an image from photo-album. When the user selects the add photo button from HTMLArea a popup shows photo-album. The user can upload/browse etc in photo-album and when a photo is picked the popup closes and the fields in the HTMLArea photo dialog are populated (via Javascript). The idea here is that users don't need to know any HTML.
